New since December 2024

Contacts by XPhone now gives you even more insight into your contacts. You’ll receive additional details on calls, emails and other key information – all in one place.

Prefer to see your contacts sorted by first name or last name? From now on, the choice is yours.

Basic functions

Once you have opened Contacts by XPhone, you can search for a variety of characteristics.
Particularly helpful: the search terms can be combined as desired (e.g. last name + company):

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Company
  • Department
  • Email address
  • Phone number

Not satisfied with standard search? Use prefixes to find contacts even more specifically!

  • Put a dot (.) before the search term to search public directories.
    Example: .Taxi Munich
  • Put a minus sign (-) before the search term to exclude it from the search.
    Example: Ventureprise -Sales

Once you've found the contact you're looking for, you can start MS Teams calls and chats or open an email directly from the contact card. Just click the corresponding icon.

Please note: these options require an email address. The icons will only be active if an email address is saved in the contact.

If one or more phone numbers are stored for a contact, you have even more ways to get in touch. Simply click the phone icon next to the desired number to start a call.

How the call is initiated depends on your personal configuration.

If Microsoft Teams PSTN telephony is enabled for you, the call will be placed via Teams.
Alternatively, calls can be made using a third-party telephony application. In this case too, a simple click on the icon is all it takes to launch the call via the external application.

A contact appears under “Recently Contacted” as soon as you perform an action such as “Send Email” from their contact card – giving you quick access when you need it.
If needed, you can remove contacts from the list via the menu.

Have contacts you communicate with most often? Use the menu to easily mark any contact as a "Favourite".
Your favourites are listed at the top of your Contacts page – so you can start a chat or MS Teams call in no time.
