HOW Contacts

by XPhone WORKS

MORE POWER FOR MICROSOFT TEAMS

Want to know not only what Contacts can do and how the app works?

Then you're in the right place! On this page we present the latest functions with each release.

New from the beginning of December 2024

Contacts by XPhone now offers even more information about your contact. You now receive additional information on calls, emails and other details.

Would you prefer your contacts to be displayed by first name or surname? You can now decide for yourself.

Basic functions

Once you have opened Contacts by XPhone, you can search for a variety of characteristics.
Particularly helpful: the search terms can be combined as desired (e.g. last name + company):

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Company
  • Department
  • Email address
  • Phone number

Not satisfied with standard search? Use prefixes to find contacts even more specifically!

  • Put a dot (.) before the search term to search public directories.
    Example: Taxi Munich
  • Put a minus sign (-) before the search term to exclude it from the search.
    Example: Ventureprise - Sales

As soon as you have found the desired contact, you can start MS Teams calls and chats or open an email directly via the contact card. Simply click on the corresponding icon.

As an email address is required for these actions, the icons are only active if an email address is stored in the contact.

If one or more phone numbers are stored for the contact, even more (communication) options are open to you: click on the phone icon after the desired number to start a phone call.

How the call is started depends on your personal configuration.

  • If you are activated for Microsoft Teams PSTN telephony, the call is started via MS Teams.
  • Alternatively, calls can be made via a third-party telephony application. Here, too, clicking on the icon is enough to start the call via the third-party application.

As soon as you open a contact card, the corresponding record is marked as "Last contacted" so you have direct quick access to it. If necessary, you can remove contacts again via the menu.

Are there contacts with whom you communicate particularly frequently? You can easily mark any contact as a "Favourite" via the menu. Your favourites are listed at the top of your Contacts page, so you can start a chat or MS Teams call in no time at all.
