The heart of the Contacts app is our data connector, which not only allows you to easily connect numerous applications and data sources via drag & drop. It also automatically standardizes all phone number formats.
Install data connector
The data connector, also known as the directory service, is installed directly on your company server.
Plug & Play commissioning takes place without special port releases (except 443 HTTPS).
The connector includes a multi-site-capable phone number index and a high performance index for fast data searches.
Connecting data sources
The data sources can be easily connected via drag & drop. The mapping wizard allows flexible and simple linking of the source data:
- User-defined data fields
- Multiple mapping of data fields
- Aggregation of data fields
Here you can also prioritize the databases and specify which search results should be displayed at the top.
Microsoft Teams Tenant registrieren
The next step is to register the Microsoft Teams tenant.
To do this, simply authenticate yourself in the administration interface of the data connector as the MS Teams administrator for your company. This creates a link between your directories and your MS Teams tenant.
Install the Contacts app from the MS Teams store
- The Contacts By XPhone app is provided free of charge as a certified application via the Microsoft App Store.
- Using "app pinning", the application can be made visible in the MS Teams client without user intervention.
- The authorization check runs via the user and group management of Microsoft 365 or via the Active Directory. Access rights can be configured per data source.
- No separate user administration is required.
